Hans Knürr Hans Knürr is an internationally experienced entrepreneur. He has personally gone through an MBO structure with a financial investor. His career started with an apprenticeship as toolmaker at Munich-based Rohde und Schwarz. Soon after that he took over the family business. Milestones of the development of 'Hans Knürr Metallarbeiten', later known as Knürr AG, were the development of the first own product in 1964 and specialisation in 'mechanics for electronics' from 1966 onwards. The seventies saw national and international expansion, and in 1981 Knürr AG was the first company since World War II to float on the Bavarian stock-exchange. When the family shares were sold in 2000, Knürr AG employed 1,150 people, had a turnover of DEM 285m and operated in 32 countries. Since mid-2000 Hans Knürr is also engaged in university research projects, as hands-on consultant (e.g. company succession) and as management advisor for CAPVIS. In addition, he has accepted several honorary posts, amongst others heading the Bavarian branch of the association of owner managed and family enterprises (ASU). |
