Friedrich Röscheisen has earned a cross-industry reputation as a 'bridge-builder' between the communications and computer industries. He has developed many cross-industry alliances between companies in the US and Europe as Vice President Alliances for Siemens and ROLM, and became a recognized facilitator of industry collaboration and alliances. In the early 1980's, Röscheisen pioneered Ethernet LAN technology with Siemens' partners 3Com, Xerox and others. He was instrumental in the industry efforts getting Ethernet approved by the international standards bodies and successfully introduced office communication systems based on Ethernet and client-server architectures.

In the 1990's, Röscheisen developed the computer-telephony integration (CTI) business via Siemens "PaCT" (PBX and Computer Teaming) alliances with Digital, IBM, HP, Apple, Microsoft, Tandem, Picturetel and others, and managed the IBM-Siemens co-operation for voice/data solutions after the aquisition of ROLM. He organized Versit, a cross-industry co-operation for diversity between AT&T, Apple, IBM, Siemens and others to enable interoperability between diverse communication platforms.

With the advent of advanced IP networking technology, he is advocating an evolutionary migration towards converged network solutions and applications. With more than 20 years of experience with the communication gap between the voice and data industries, Röscheisen became the initiator and founding contributor of Vortex. He has now assumed the role of the Executive Producer of Vortex Europe, in partnership with Lia Lorenzano, President IDG Executive Forums and Founding Producer Bob Metcalfe.
